Long days & sun salutes

So this is exciting: it's both the Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day today!

And it's even more exciting for those of us in London, because we actually had a sunny day, unlike the torrential downpours that made yesterday's 'First Day of Summer' downright ironic, comical, and ridiculous.

As the longest day of the year, it brings in additional opportunities for Happy Moments. From sunrise at 4:43am (which I am quick to assure you I did not witness firsthand) to the forthcoming sunset at 9:22pm (which I hope I'll still be awake for, because let's hope I'm not quite that lame).

And International Yoga Day is a real thing! There's a UN declaration and everything! Meant to encourage and promote unity between mind and body, harmony between man and nature, and a holistic approach to health and well-being. Something to be celebrated every day, of course, but isn't it nice for that to get a little international recognition?

Tomorrow, the days start getting shorter, and that's kind of a shame. But for tonight, I'm going to enjoy the bright light in the big city.

Love,
Joëlle
