A realization has hit me this morning, as I was facing the prospect of a rather empty Saturday with nothing planned until the evening.
That realization is: I live in LONDON. London has, you know, things to do! Exciting things! Adventurous things! Quiet things! Loud things! Oh-so-many things! There's simply no excuse to not find something fun to do.
So I've spontaneously decided to get myself over to an attraction I've been curious about for several years: The Emirates Air Line. Not the actual airline, mind you: it's actually a cable car that crosses the River Thames from London to Greenwich in about 10 minutes. It goes over the O2 arena at a height of 90 meters (300 feet) above the river, so if I'm lucky, I'll get a great view of London!
It's a gray day, but no matter. There are adventures to be had. Once I'm on the other side, it looks like I'll be...well, pretty much in the middle of nowhere. But maybe I'll take a long walk to the heart of Greenwich, to the Royal Observatory, the National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark, or the little town itself. Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Because I don't know how long I'll end up living in London for, but I do know I don't want to leave with regrets.
Now, how do I actually get there?
