Those Happy Moments

Musings and motivation from a recovering pessimist

Hello and Bonjour! I'm Joëlle Marti, a global citizen looking for what comes next in life, and trying to have as much fun as possible while exploring possibilities for a creative life. I'm Swiss-American, love to travel, explore the unknown, and learn as I go.

I started this blog on January 1st, 2016 as a way to find and explore the 'Happy Moments' in my everyday life. Against my own expectations, I found one for every day of that year - 366 Happy Moments to remember, to be grateful for, and to help me shrug off the less-happy moments I was typically focusing on.

Then, in 2017, I turned Those Happy Moments into a book! Inspired by my experience writing about happiness for 366 days in a row, the book shares what I learned along the way - and what can benefit you too! It's packed with examples and practical exercises to help you bring additional happiness into your own life. Watch the book trailer HERE, learn more HERE, and purchase the book - available in ebook and paperback - HERE

In 2018, I'm turning my attention back to blogging, with a renewed focus towards sharing tips and tricks to help other people make the most of their lives. Keep up with me on the new blog page! I look forward to getting to know each other better, and I wish you many Happy Moments along the way.

Scariest things I've done so far:

Qualifying as a yoga teacher

Finishing a marathon

Petting a tiger (not proud of that one)

Earning my MBA

Survived 18 months of unemployment - the good, the bad, and the ugly

Moving around the world on my own, from Switzerland to Singapore to San Francisco, and finally to London (and a few more places in between!)  (2017 edit: I've added another move since starting the blog - Hello, Hamburg!)
